Just For Her Expo

I had a chance to visit this event last week and had a lot of fun.  I have a tendency to be skeptical of any of these types of “shows” and know the reality is paying to get into a place, only to have vendors hawking their wares at me left and right.  With this in mind, I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it was.  There were of course the numerous booths that we must walk by to get to the good stuff, and the usual sales techniques to try to get your e-mail and phone number, but all that was forgotten as soon as I got to the “boutique crawl” and ordered myself the special drink (Hertini) of the night.  The boutiques were great!  There were lots of funky tops and tons of cute jeans at prices that were reasonable. The Hertini was only 6 bucks, and it was yummy and fruity.  Granted there wasn’t a ton of alcohol in it, but there were many other options at the bar set up in the back.  I also enjoyed the fashion show, although after watching the models I found myself contemplating what combination of Sexy Back boot-camp, Weight-Watchers, and cellulite treatment I would need to get into a swimsuit myself this summer *sigh.  Then I grabbed another drink and quickly forgot about my weight loss woes as I settled in as a spectator at the bachelor auction.  I couldn’t help feeling sorry for these guys, no matter how cocky or confidant, it must be somewhat stressful during the inevitable hesitation on the girls part to bid upwards of 500 bucks for a date.  Fortunately all the guys got a respectable amount for their dates, and of course it was for charity, so it was a win-win situation for everyone.  Altogether this was a great night out and I will probably be back next year :)  BTW - the music they played all night was great!  High energy and very current stuff.  -Good times livin’ it up!
